Joren Falls and Shuzenji

Wasabi is famous over there.

EN: Even though I had visited Kawazu and other places in Izu twice before, I never went to Shuzenji onsen in the middle of the peninsula and I kept skipping the visit of Joren Falls – apparently the most scenic waterfall in Izu. This time I visited both. The waterfall was spectacular and the wasabi field in its vicinity (wasabi roots need flowing fresh water to grow) was an added bonus.

I have to admit that I had never heard about Shuzenji onsen before, it is one of the oldest and most famous onsens in Izu. I was pleasantly surprised, small bath town was really nice and it offered interesting walking paths, including several shrines and Shuzenji temple, built around 1200 years ago. When I came back to Kawazu, I did some of the evening photos as well.

SK: Kawazu som síce v minulosti navštívil už dvakrát, no ani raz som nenavštívil kúpeľné mestečko Shuzenji a neustále som odkladal aj návštevu vodopádu Joren Falls.
