Kawazu 2018

EN: My first holiday of the year has just began. Actually, I arrived to Kawazu (Izu peninsula) yesterday, but I had some duties to deal with, so I could not go anywhere. Besides, I arrived to my hotel quite late, so I had no choice. Fortunately, I had the whole onsen just for myself, since all of the guests were gone.

I visited Kawazu last year, it was a spur of the moment, I really loved local sakura festival, which happens to be the earliest in Japan. Early blooming kawazu sakura trees are famous all around the country, unfortunately this year careful planning did not help, it seems. Cold weather waves caused the delay in their bloom and thus they are far from looking magnificent yet.

I am lucky enough to stay here in Izu until Monday (so for the next 4 days), maybe then I will have a chance of taking better sakura photos. In the meantime you can enjoy my post from one year ago here. Still, there are PLENTY of things to see around here, I visited Kawazu Nanadaru series of waterfalls, which are part of Izu no Odoriko trail – which follows the steps of main characters of the novel with the same name. I also visited other places over here – Izu is definitely a place to see.

No teraz je to inak, vlny chladného počasia všetko oneskorili.
