EN: I’ve heard a lot about Ritsurin Garden. Anyone who knows me is aware of my passion for Japanese gardens—and really, all kinds of gardens—and flowers. I was expecting the cherry blossoms to be in full bloom at this time of year, but it turns out the forecasts were a bit off this time. Regardless, visiting this garden was a must for me. I decided to leave my hotel early in the morning to dodge the crowds from flag-led “zombie tours,” which turned out to be a great decision—the garden was still relatively empty, free from the hordes of selfie stick enthusiasts. I can say with certainty that this is the most beautiful garden I’ve seen in Japan so far, and I’ve visited many. Even though it’s early spring and much of the greenery hadn’t yet turned green or bloomed, it was absolutely worth the visit.

Rozhodol som sa ráno skoro opustiť hotel, aby som sa vyhol davom z turistických skupín vedených vlajkou, čo považujem za úspech – záhrada bola ešte pomerne prázdna, bez nadšencov selfie tyčí. Môžem potvrdiť, že toto je najkrajšia záhrada, ktorú som doteraz v Japonsku videl, a navštívil som ich mnoho. Aj keď je skoro na jar a väčšina zelene ešte nebola zelená alebo rozkvitnutá, stálo to za to.
